According to the latest data released by the Reserve Bank of India, NBFCs (Non-Banking Financial Companies) increase its credits in July 2026
In June 2025, year-on-year growth in overall credit is 11.1% and now in June 2026 its turn into 14.4%
Retail Credit Leads Growth
Retail lending remained one of the strongest areas for NBFCs during the month. Retail sector credits grew by 20.3% in June 2026.
This indicates that borrowing or loans given to ordinary people for example Car loans, Home loans or some other personel loans.
Agriculture Credit Sees Sharp Improvement
Credit to the agriculture sector also recorded significant growth. Agriculture-related lending increased by 17.9% in June 2026, compared with just 5.1% a year earlier.
The sharp improvement suggests stronger credit demand from the agriculture and allied sectors.
Industrial Credit Growth Slows
In contrast, credit to the industrial sector grew at a slower pace of 6.7% in June 2026. This was lower than the 10.3% growth recorded in June 2025.
The slowdown indicates that industrial borrowing did not expand as quickly as lending to retail and agriculture.
Services Sector Maintains Strong Growth
Credit to the services sector grew by 17.6% in June 2026. However, this was lower than the 22.4% growth recorded in June 2025.
Despite the moderation, services continued to remain an important area of NBFC lending.
